Mark Webster not only helped me learn to love my Mac, but single-handedly saved my sanity, which was definitely wavering as I tried to come to terms with my new iMac G5 after ten years without a computer of any sort. A quote from my diary at the time reads “recalcitrant, idiosyncratic, bloody-minded ___”, which is not the usual sort of description you get from someone who loves their Mac!
That all changed when I came across a magazine called Macguide which contained an assessment of my iMac model which was at 180° out from my own, and I wrote off a scathing email to the editor. And so I met Mark, who first of all discovered that my [Apple] Help wasn’t working and then, with infinite patience, helped me move from being a newbie who didn’t know a pop up menu from a dialogue box into a confident operator who knows what she is about and is daily more impressed with what her Mac is capable of.
While Mark was a superb editor, I’m pleased that he is now free to do what he loves best, which is to help people as he helped me, to maximise the potential of their Mac and to enjoy the Apple experience.
